Prompt Planets is an exploration of using 2D generative AI to develop 3D assets. This process includes generating hypothetical satellite images, and then extending their patterns into a seamless cubemap via Content Aware Fill in Photoshop. Within a 3D modeling platform, a script translates the color ranges of the cubemaps as topography and then a 3D quad sphere. Prompt Planets is a showcase of these generated 3D models using Stable Diffusion 1.5, helping imagine ways for generative AI to further affect 3D content creation.
